Jeff and Lani traveled up to Whilster from San Diego, California with their family and closest friends to celebrate their love. Being from California where it’s sunny 99% of the year, Lani and Jeff really wanted to make sure their guests had a snowy experience up in Whistler, and the mountains did not dissapoint! The snow caps were the perfect backdrop to their day.
We absolutely love small intimate weddings, especially when they are held at beautiful venues! With no official bridal party Jeff and Lani got ready together in their hotel room at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, where their friends joined them for a morning of champagne toasts and giggles. These two love cockails and so it was important that they play a roll in their day. Before getting dressed they shared a toast together with their favourite cocktails – a perfect start to their morning.
One of our absolute favourite venues in Whistler is the Audain Art Gallery and we were so excited when we found out that Jeff and Lani had booked their ceremony there. We just can’t get over the amazing architecture of the whole building. There are so many amazing places to photograph on site that you really dont need to leave if you don’t want to! Our creative juices were on overdrive as we braved the cold with these two to capture some beautiful images.
And of course we had to get in some snowy photos too! We headed over to Alta Lake where Jeff and Lani climbed down a snowy bank so they could stand out on the snowy pier. The lake was frozen (and snowed over!) and made for the most magical snowy backdrop for this California couple.
Their ceremony in the gallery at the Audain was so beautiful and there was not a dry eye in the house! Plus, look at those beautiful architectural lines!
Remember how we said that Jeff and Lani love cocktails?! Well they wanted to make sure they shared that love with their guests – Upon arrival back to the Fairmont Chateau everyone was greeted with their favourite drink! What an amazing way to start the cocktail hour! Such a sweet and thoughtful touch by the couple.
After their rooftop, candlelit first dance they headed back inside for dinner and drinks in the cutest room ever. There’s something so special about having all of your favourite people all together in one place, and when you all fit at one table it’s even more magical. Thank you Jeff and Lani for having us on your wonderful day! We feel so lucky to have met you.
