Katie + Andy: A Brew Creek Centre Wedding

Brew Creek has to be one of our favourite mini destination venues close to Vancouver. Located in Whistler, just a couple of hours drive from the city, it makes the perfect weekend getaway for you and your guests. 

Funny story about Katie and Andy. They are friends of a friend and we actually met them up in Whistler at New Years. The two of us were up there for a wedding we were photographing at the SLCC and we were staying with the mutual friend. On New Years Day we were all relaxing in the hot tub and K&A were chatting about how they just got engaged and were trying to find a venue for their wedding.

Of course we love sharing what we know about wedding venues in and around Vancouver, so we gave them a couple of ideas and options to check out. On their drive back home that afternoon they actually stopped in at The Brew Creek Centre to take a look and fell in love!

The cabins are beautiful, the surrounding forest is magical, the food is delicious (plus they grow a lot of it themselves!), and the staff is so friendly – what more could you ask for from a wedding venue?!

Katie and Andy spent three days at Brew Creek with their friends and family celebrating their love for each other. The scenery at Brew Creek is so luscious you really can’t go wrong with anywhere you chose to get ready! The cabins are just the quaintest and have plenty of room for you and your people.

Katie and Andy knew they wanted to enjoy their cocktail hour with their guests after the ceremony, so decided to do their portraits before hand. This meant the cutest first look was in store! One thing we love about the Brew Creek Centre is that there is so much variety for photo locations. I think every time we photograph there we find something new!

That being said, Katie and Andy also knew they wanted to try and get some photos by water if possible. We had previously scouted this spot and with it only being about a 10 minute drive from Brew Creek Centre we knew it would be perfect! The rushing river is the most amazing colour as it’s actually glacier run off!

After a lovely ceremony and cocktail hour on the lawn in the sunshine, everyone headed into the main lodge for some delicious food, and hilarious speeches!

We absolutely love the plan these two had for their first dance. Instead of doing it inside on the dance floor they opted to do it under the open sky and magical string lights on the bridge. It was the perfect spot for the two of them and we hope some of our future weddings at Brew Creek Centre do the same thing!!
