Hey! We’re Jeff and Cat, a husband and wife phot Hey! We’re Jeff and Cat, a husband and wife photography team based in Vancouver, Canada. We’ve been photographing weddings together since we met in class over 15 years ago. It’s been a journey of growing, as individuals, a couple and artists. We’ve always loved the experience of documenting a wedding, but our approach has evolved to really honour the experience. After all, being a part of all our couple’s days, is a part of our lives. Their memories become our memories and we are so thankful to the people who let us into their lives.

We started the subscriber part of our channel to share the insights we’ve taken years to learn but also to create a community of photographers who want to be able to ask anything and feel like they can do so without judgment. Aside from all the technical aspects of wedding photography, true success comes from the relationships, the experience, and the willingness to learn and evolve.

We hope you consider joining us here and look forward to what we can learn from each other.

The four settings we reset before every wedding da The four settings we reset before every wedding day

Hey, we’re Jeff and Cat, a husband and wife photography team

The first step is to reset our White balance to 5200

Next we sync all our camera clocks, so images appear in perfect chronological order.

Resetting the file count keep all our images in order by file name and is an extra check at the end of the night. We know we’ve loaded 100% of images, by checking the total image count and the file name of the last image taken.

Finally, a quick check that we are recording to multiple cards and playing back to the SD. Since we load from our SDs we want to ensure any ratings made in camera transfer to the catalogs.

A quick tip, never forget a step by configuring your camera’s custom menu to display all the settings you use to reset your camera.

That was episode 58 - if you’d like to learn more about wedding photography, editing and the business behind it all, make sure to give us a follow.

The best surviving example of Art Deco here in Van The best surviving example of Art Deco here in Vancouver, the Marine Building is one of our favourite places to visit if we have a wedding downtown. If you ever get a chance, walk through the turnstile doors and check out the lobby of this place, it's absolutely incredible //
