In the middle of our fifth season of wedding photography in Vancouver we were thrown a curve ball when we stumbled onto our dream home in Vancouver. After a search of almost two years, the unfortunate timing of finding it during the wedding season seemed unlikely. But there we were, mid stride into the busiest season we had encountered so far and we had just bought our very first home together.

Two months, slightly under budget, nine weddings and a short trip to Vegas later, we were finally done renovating, moved in and settled. It wasn’t until one quiet evening while we were watching TV, probably Castle or the Walking Dead, I said, “Hey, why don’t we change the name of our company?” I was thinking after all these years that it wasn’t really fair that our photography company be named after just one of us, and that we should have a new name that reflected the both of us. And that’s where “The Apartment” was born!
